As we all know, Michael Jackson made a significant swing back up in sales and airplay last week in the USA and abroad.
As previously reported, Michael Jackson's Number Ones posted a 139% increase with sales of 8,660 units. That figure has landed Michael back on the Billboard 200 @ #134 and Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart #49!
Well, that's not all the good news as ten titles in Michael Jackson's catalog posted a 100%+ sales increase!
Taken as a whole, Michael's catalog sales posted a 138% sales increase selling 27,166 units last week!
From the nearly 6,000 units that Thriller sold (which incidentally has landed the album back in the Top 5 of the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Catalog Chart and Top 30 of the Billboard Top Pop Catalog Chart) to the nearly 5,000 units the Number Ones DVD shifted (which also boosted the title into the Top 15 of the Billboard Comprehensive Music Videos Chart), last week was indeed a week to celebrate.
As previously mentioned in other chart wrap ups, the tally below does not include sales for The Ultimate Collection (4 CD/1 DVD), single sales, certain music DVD titles (eg. The One, Dangerous: The Short Films, etc.), material recorded with The Jacksons, and Motown era solo and Jackson 5 albums. One can imagine how much higher Michael's tally would be if those sales totals were included.

14. Through the Rain (Single): 80 (+3%)
15. Emotions: 43 (+30%)
16. MTV Unplugged: 21 (-13%)
Notes: The latest album scanned another 162,000 and change (passing the 2 million mark in 10 weeks time.) Rainbow passed that mark sooner, but did not stay in the upper region of the chart like the new album has. Among catalog/older albums, Greatest Hits is flirting with the catalog top 50 (it was No. 58 the prior week, when it scanned 3,700+); it increases this week, but misses that mark since sales in general increased.

11. Live In Concert (Video, 1999): 74 (-6%)
Notes: Still not sure why Cher's Farewell Tour DVD is sellign at the levels it is again. Very Best of Cher continues to sell comfortably (I believe it's officially a catalog album now).

19. Bedtime Stories: 55 (-26%)
20. I'm Breathless: 54 (+29%)
21. Evita: 51 (+4%)
Notes: Madonna's The Immaculate Collection nudges up a bit, after what *may* have been its lowest sales tally since its release (though I can't 100% confirm that). GHV2 drops below 300 units (yikes), and Ray of Light continues to shine best in sales, among the studio albums. Last year at this time, the sales were higher, with the Re-Invention Tour going on. Upcoming propjects later this year should provide a spark in catalog sales.

1. Design Of A Decade 1986/1996 (album): 708 (+19%)
2. Damita Jo: 428 (+6%)

4. From janet. To Damita Jo (Video): 375 (-7%)

3. The Greatest Hits (Video): 244 (+7%)

11. I'm Your Baby Tonight: 4 (+33%)
12. One Wish: 4 (+100%)
Notes: The Greatest Hits reaches the 1K mark again as Just Whitney reaches what appears to be its lowest tally yet.
